Fort Worth School Evaluated, Students and Teachers ill

At Diamond Hill Elementary School in Fort Worth, students and teachers to complain of nausea and dizziness on Friday. The school was thoroughly evaluated and firefighters checked for carbon monoxide or other fumes. But nothing was found. It started when a teacher who went to her doctor on Friday morning after she started feeling sick. Clint Bond, a District Spokesman said there was no diagnosis, but symptoms were compatible with carbon monoxide exposure. When this was reported to the school, officials decided to evaluate and firefighters checked the building.
After some time staff and students also started to complain. About 15 students and seven staff adults were evaluated by medical staff. Students were checked out immediately and none required the transport to the hospital. Three adults were transported to the hospital because they requested to. Everyone else went back to the class. Some of the parents pulled away their children on Friday afternoon. One of the parent said, “Better safe than sorry.” People who felt ill were in a wing of the building near construction outside. As a precaution construction was halted for the day as a precaution. Clint said the district will have air monitors in the school through the weekend and again on Monday when kids return. There are no carbon monoxide detectors inside the school, but district seemed into buying them.
